Once a year, the ART-IN-RES Symposium creates a space for meeting and addressing common themes, formulating needs and opportunities for the development of the field of creative residencies.
This year’s meeting will focus on the future of artist residencies in the Czech Republic, their sustainability and funding opportunities after the end of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) support. We want to share experiences, explore possibilities for further support and look for ways to link cultural, regional and economic development.
11.00-12.30 – Inspirational session (in English)
Presentation of examples and models of support for artist residencies from Italy, Spain and Slovakia.
Sharing experiences in the field of funding and international cooperation.
12.30-13.00 – Lunch break
13.00-15.00 – Panel discussion (in Czech)
The impact of NRP (National Recovery Plan) on cultural infrastructure and artist residencies.
Options for long-term support of residency programmes after the NRP.
Linking cultural policy, regional development and tourism.
Challenges associated with funding and operating residencies.
Representatives of the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Regional Development, the Association of Regions of the Czech Republic, the Czech Centres and operators of residential centres will discuss.
