Discussion WE

16. 10. / 15.00 / Veletržní palác

Czech / 120 min.

The series of meetings within the Malá inventura festival opens up a space for independent artists to engage in conversations that go beyond institutional issues and everyday challenges. Rather than focusing solely on problems, the aim is to share inspirations, perceptions of reality, motivations, and unfinished thoughts.

The first Malá inventura meeting will focus on the theme of MY (WE). What does WE mean at a time when we are afraid of crowd psychology? What does WE mean when the plural is often perceived in a national sense and used as a strategy for defining oneself against other identities? WE carries many negative connotations. But what if, this time, we try to look for ways to view it from a positive perspective?

Over the course of an ordinary day, we pass through many different WEs: me and the person I love; me and my friends; WE—the people currently in the grocery store; WE—people with joint problems; WE—people running away from the rain, etc. When during the day do you notice that you are part of a WE? When does WE give you energy? Which WE would you like to belong to? Is WE something that takes away from your individuality?

The informal meeting will be moderated by dramaturge Sodja Lotker. The initial discussion WE will be formed by four guests—Zuzana Šklíbová, Karel Vladyka, Sára Arnstein, and Viktor Černický—who will help us launch the conversation.

The discussion is open to the public exclusively upon free registration.
