I keep looping
20. 2. / 18.00 / ARCHA+, Café
no language barrier / 240 min
The project I keep looping explores how a specific collective state of experiencing the present can emerge from the encounter of individual rhythms and inner worlds. It is not an event to be watched, but a space that can be entered and inhabited.
Participants receive a simple instruction: choose a song and listen to it on headphones on repeat. They put on sunglasses and enter a space that the performers keep alive by remaining within their own loops. The chosen song becomes a framework for experience, opening layers of memory, emotion, imagination, and desire. Participants are invited to observe themselves and the strategies that emerge in their own looping. Be in rhythm, lose track of time, let go of control, immerse yourself, dissolve, disappear, dream…
The project offers a framework rather than a manual. There is no correct way to participate. What matters unfolds in the in-between space – in the personal search for how to be within oneself while sharing the environment with others, attentive to the shared field. Subtle connections between participants’ inner worlds create a particular kind of encounter that does not occur through words or direct interaction, but through a different mode of being.
practical informations:
During the four-hour performance, audience members are free to enter and leave at any time and stay for as long as they wish. They are asked to bring their own headphones and a device for playing music. A limited number of headphones will be available to borrow on site.
