…Little Red Riding Hood!

Hunter Jarda can play a harmonica, her mother dreams on the porch, and her grandmother likes rock ‘n’ roll. Little Red Riding Hood is really enjoying the fairy tale with the giant basket. But what is she doing when she’s not in a fairy tale?

Anička a letadýlko is an alternative theatre company that has been active on the Czech scene for 20 years. Director Anna Pola maps her life in an almost diary-like form through a series of performances that explore themes such as insomnia, loss of one’s inner strength, enchantment with platonic love, encounters with chauvinistic directors, lack of God within oneself, and the search for a real male hero (the Wolf) in the recently staged performance Go with the Basket. With the help of dramaturge Petr Pola and her dream team, Anna Pola sets the stories in landscapes of fairy-tales for children and adults alike. She uses puppetry, object theatre, and drama, lots of original music, and a specific visual style.
