Kawloon, a large apartment building. The largest apartment building in the world, which no longer exists. Intricate, endless, dark alleys where anyone who doesn’t belong gets lost. And standing at the gate to this building is Tuan, all alone, needing to get inside and find his way to a new home.
Kawloon Walled City was a part of Hong Kong that was not subject to any government control. Over time, the original defensive fortress grew into one large building occupying an area of 0.026 km2 and providing a home for more than 50,000 inhabitants. The presented puppet show tells the story of discovering this intricate place and getting to know a new home through projection batteries, and light and sound animation.
After the performance, a moderated mini-discussion led by Karolina Plicková will follow.
