Does failure define artistry?
The culmination of Tomáš Procházka’s long-term durational project loosely follows his debut durational performance Evening, the Moment Before I Committed Suicide. Combining documentary film, performance, and drag, the artist once again turns the camera on himself as he revisits and atones for his past. Procházka becomes a living work in progress—continually evolving, like any human being. Lemonade has no clear beginning or end; it simply unfolds across the artist’s life, both publicly and on his blog Lysé ztráty. Before the audience, he ages, fails, loves, hates, rejoices, and cries. The work invites viewers to pause and recognize that even our seemingly fatal mistakes are what make us human.
Trigger Warning:
This performance includes audio recordings addressing the author’s personal experience with se*ual trauma and addiction. Artificial blood is used during the performance.
Practical information
The performance consists of two parts:
The durational part will take place from 15:00 to 20:00 and will be accessible to festival guests upon presentation of a festival badge; to the general public upon presentation of a valid purchased ticket.
