Young people speak up and turn to their elders, who tell them what they can and cannot do. They also teach them about freedom – but only when they keep quiet! This time, it will be the adults who remain silent. “Because when children speak, adults listen.”
Lil Drama is a theatre project with teenagers directed by Petr Gonda. Since October 2024, Gonda and his team have been meeting with a group of young participants to explore the themes of oppression, violence, and resistance. The result is a performance not for children, but by children for adults. Lil Drama is a series of experiments: an attempt to understand the world, to reflect on it, change it, and even negate it.
Finger guns can kill. AI can suffer. Puppets murder each other. Fake punches become tools of playful but terrifying escalation of violence. “Capitalism is exactly the kind of slime they sell in a pink glittery tube labelled ‘limited edition,’ but when you open it, it smells like chemicals and corrodes your table.”
After the performance, a moderated mini-discussion led by Anna Prstková will follow.
