ZDRUHESTRANY, Viktor Černický

Four bodies and hundreds of kilograms of tires are brought together in a gruelling performance that explores the fragility of our relationship to environment. Unpredictable pile of tires that dominates the stage and determines human behaviour gradually transforms into a living and dynamic architecture. PNEU is a performative playground where rules unexpectedly disappear and reappear, chaos becomes the structure, and imbalance becomes a driving force. In this project, which draws on the theory of antifragility, Viktor Černický presents a scenic essay on effort, exhaustion, and the renewal of strength.

Why do we always feel worse when we do nothing for a few days? How many people exercise every day just to stay in shape? Our bodies are antifragile factories and they must be exposed to discomfort in order to simply survive. We constantly push the limits of our own capabilities, which makes us grow. Tires are one of our closest partners and greatest enemies. It depends on whether we sit in a car or use them as obstacles to our movement, like toys that we lift, jump over, and push away. Sharing discomfort and making effort connects us and allows us to transcend our own existence. We are a community of restlessness.

After the performance, a moderated mini-discussion led by Zuzana Šklíbová will follow.
